Term "Royal Vienna" refers to a style of porcelain painting that became very popular during late 19th and
early 20th century. There was no single manufacturer called Royal Vienna. Instead, there were dozens of
big and small porcelain decorators though out Germany and Austria who produced some magnificent
portrait plates and vases that are very collectible today.
Royal Vienna portraits were hand painted copies of oil on canvas paintings by such artists as Joseph Karl
Stieler, Angelo Asti and Jean-Baptiste Greuze.
